Passwords

October 10, 2017

One key to preventing con artists from hacking into your online accounts and apps is to use a strong, unique password or passphrase for each one. All passwords should be at least eight characters long (the longer, the better) and include capital and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. You may want to think of passwords based on a phrase that uses a combination of letters and numbers. For example, “My dog’s name is Brutus” plus a random number creates the password “MdniB239.” Also, be sure to disable any automatic login functions on websites, and always log off from each website and account when finished.
