National Cybersecurity Awareness Month – Tip # 3: Wi-Fi usage

October 21, 2019

As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, help protect yourself and guard your personal information by learning to limit how you use free, public Wi-Fi. When on a free, public Wi-Fi network at places such as cafés or hotels, avoid any online activities that require your passwords or banking/credit card information. Before connecting to free, public Wi-Fi, confirm with a staff person the name of the network and the proper login process to help avoid phony hotspots designed by scammers to steal your personal information.
