Stay vigilant: Ohioans continue to see business imposter and tech support scams

 Ohioans are continuing to receive phony phone calls where the scammer poses as a legitimate business, such as Amazon. They are calling consumers out of the blue and stating that your credit card has been charged for a large purchase, and to contact them immediately if you did not place the order. Also, consumers are getting inundated with calls from phony tech support companies telling them to order or renew anti-virus or other computer-related services. The scammers may claim to be associated with Microsoft, Geek Squad or other legitimate businesses. If you refuse the “service,” they may say they need to refund your money and request that you download a program that allows them to remotely access your computer. Beware!
